I never saw myself ever having to make one of these, but it’s gotten quite annoying having to answer the same questions over and over again, so I will do my best to try and answer all questions here first, all the ones I can possibly think of people asking, and as more get added, I will add more on!

What are these things called?
Ball-Jointed Dolls (BJD) or Asian Ball-Jointed Dolls (ABJD), Commonly known as ‘Dollfies’ or ‘super Dollfies’ they come in a lot of different sizes, want to have a detailed description about them go here.

Yes, go to Giggle Geek, it has a list of all the agents and dollfie websites you can purchase from. be careful to read before clicking a site, some sites only supply dollfie heads, meaning you will have to find your own body for iton your own. Stay clear of Angel of Dream and Dollzone as they are known for poor resin, posing, and bad stringing aside from Ripping other company's molds.

How much are Dollfies?
From $350 to $700. A very expensive hobby, On top of the Doll itself you have to buy clothing, wigs, any custom face-ups you want which all adds up to more.
Did you make your doll?
No, that’s just stupid to think I did really. They are far to amazing and pretty for me to make, pretty Korean men made them
They're a bit expensive. Why spend so much on one?
To me my Dolls are part of my life, they help me focus on my want to become a better photographer, they are an agreeable perfect posing model to work with, they help my drawing skills and inspire me always to better myself and my skills. They have taught me to sew, to make jewellery and accessories and are constantly there when I need somebody to hug and coil with. Yes I plan to get more aside from Itou, but Itou being my first means I have a great connection to him.
Are you selling them/Can I have them?
Uhm, Never. If I die before I’m old and wrinkly and smelling of my own wee or even when I am that, they are going with me. I can’t ever bring myself to part from them.
Can I draw Itou/Ruka + boys to come?
Sure thing, he has already had one person doodle him apart from myself! Just make sure you put me in the art comments <3
Why do you talk About dolls like they are a real person, 'him' 'she' and not 'it'?
Many Dollfie owners do it, we refer to our boys/girls as if they are people, because many tend to treat them like people. It is ‘normal’ between some owners to ‘hear’ or know what it is a Dollfie is saying, they tend to mimic us with emotions once they establish a ‘connection’ to their owner. These types of owners (like me and my partner and many others) tend to also class their Dollfies as part of themselves, aside from having their own characters, they do in fact like to show individual emotions and mirror ours.

Keep your opinion to yourself, unless you love, understand and cherish a Dollfie yourself I don’t want to know your opinion on this matter. Dollfie’s to some are companions aside from art projects obsessions and hobbies. Near to every person I’ve met with a dollfie has a character for each one they own, talks about them as if a real person, treats them with care and attention, and are very much ‘connected’ to their dolls like I am.

What is HiddenxDreams?
Hidden x Dreams (HxD) is a Dollfie store run by myself and my partner Syryn. I make the necklaces, Accessories and so-on, she makes shirts bags and other things. We are UK only for the moment.

Any tips on Dollfies?
Depends what you mean. Tips on buying / looking after I’d say look around on DOA for a bit and get a feel for what’s to come.
When buying a Dollfie, from any site, check if they come with a face-up, most you have to select ‘make-up’ / ‘face-up’ separately because you have to pay extra. So make sure you select it! or your doll will come with no eyelashes, eye detail, eyebrows, blush NOTHIN! Just a blank face.
Also check if they come with clothing or not (Itou didn’t I had to buy him an outfit) mot places they do, some you can choose yes or no if you don’t like their default outfit.

Face-ups?
A dolls face is often called a face-up or make-up. Everything you see on Itou’s pretty little face I hand painted on and sealed with MSC (a sealant spray). Everything, eye detail, cheek blusher, eyebrows, eyelashes etc is all the face up, without it he’d be a black face with eye holes, scary shiz.
Can you do face-ups?
Me, myself? Not yet. I will be training myself to do them eventually, once I have settled and got used to restringing and other things first.
Re-stringing?! What?
Dollfies need Re-stringing every 5-6 months with new strings depending on how much you pose and use them. I recently got Itou re-strung because his head wouldn’t turn due to being too tightly strung on arrival (his neck was grinding in to his head socket creating resin dust which is unhealthy X_X)

What do you Clean Dollfies with?
'Magic eraser' its a type of sponge that has a chemical coating which cleans the resit without harming it. Wet a cut off of it, clean your dollfie with as many bits as needed, dry with tissue as you do so. check Here on DOA for a list of the 'magic erasers' in different countries stores, and how to clean.
Some marks/stains dollfies pick up are hard to get off even with the eraser (it should remove everything but not with itou it doesnt X_X) so, i use on these buggers, acetone-free oil-free nail varnish remover and water rinse the resin after then dry.

What if there is a mark on the face?
thats scary, ive had Itou marked on the face and in one place he still is. if its dust or something that is easy to remove or stuck on to his 'skin' then i get a cotton bud and carefully prod it off of him, same if he gets anything in/on his eyes. If its an actual mark (like there is right now XD but you can't see it) uhm, some people say use dry magic eraser lightly. read the thread i linked about previously on magic erasers, DOA answer everything like that <3
Sanding a dollfie? Seam-lines?
Itou came with ‘seam-lines’ basically mould lines from where they moulded his resin. I wasn’t too fussy about it when I first got him but over a period of time it began to become noticeable even in the photographs to how prominent they really were. So I got myself the right stuff and sanded him down so he is all smoooooooth and shiny shiny and seamless <3
Can you sand my dollfie?
Can do, but you’d have to send them to me or be near me for me to do it. also have to be a nice day/well vented room as Resin dust is toxic. (just the dust generated from sanding, not the actual doll itself in a normal state)
How do you pierce Your dollfie / give them piercings?
Itou had his nipple and bellybutton done at one point. for his tummy button ring i got a simple split ring, cut a section out of it and glued it in place with PVA glue. for the nipple bar piercing we simply got two ball bearings (smallest we had, anything small silver ball shaped the size you want will do) and pva'd them either side of his nipple then blushed once the glue was dry to make them look realistic and raised. thats all it takes.
